July & August Happenings

Lots has happened the past few weeks, so about time for another update!!!! First of all we want to share some good news with you, we have booked our tickets to go to Holland for 3 months, we will arrive in Holland on october 30th! We’re planning to go to some churches and groups to share about our work. Also I’ll be giving some creative courses and selling some artwork to help us in our expenses!

TRAINING

The past 3 months I have invested a lot of time in training and lectures on prevention, sexuality, marriage, relationships etc. For 3 night I taught in a night-mini-DTS on relationships, I taught on prevention in an Urban Missions School for a whole day, but with our team we also spoke about sex in a youth prison for girls, on the same subject for teens during a Bible Holiday School and yesterday on abortion in a creche in the community. So challenges enough!!!!

GRACE FARM

On the farm where Jander works the DTS has finally started. Jander helps out sometimes and I will also help every once in a while with translating and I was responsable for the welcome packs. Before the DTS begins there is always a training for the staff and to finish the training we had a barbecue at our place. Here you can see the whole group together!!!

Please pray for Paulo, one of the boys on the farm. He is doing his DTS in Goiania on the other side of Brasil, and wants to go to Africa for his outreach, remember him in your prayers, and contact us if you would like to help him in any way.

VISITORS FROM HOLLAND

We also received my parents here for 6 weeks. Ofcourse all the attention went to Efraim who got spoilt a lot. For instance he got a new bike, he learned how to ride it within a day! Luckily we have enough space for him here!

He also loved to join his grandparents to the beach and to help to put the car in the garage, making lots of noise with the horn ofcourse!

Also grandpa and grandma were often commanded to sit and play with him, or to play football. Efraim is really growing up and is even sleeping in a big bed now! If you haven’t seen his pictures of his 3d birthday, take a look here.

Both Efraim and Jander have been quite sick this month, this was actually the first time Efraim really was sick and on this picture you can see how he fell asleep standing up….

PRAYER REQUESTS

We would like to ask you to pray for Janders mother. We were called last Sunday saying that she’s in the hospital having troubles breathing, also her glicose & bloodpressure are not as it should be. She was released from the hospital yesterday, but she had to go back the same day again. We are really worried, Jander would really like to be with her, but at the moment we don’t have the money for that. Also we’d like to ask you to pray for our preparations to go to Holland. Luckily we already found someone to stay in our house, but we still need prayer for finances, clothes for Efraim etc. We will be staying at the same place we have been the last few times we were in Holland, and will have a very nice house to ourselves. We are really looking forwar to spending the holidays with our friends and family after years!
